Marisa Lindsay - I Want You To Want Me (2009)

Marisa Lindsay cites Natalie Cole, Aretha Franklin and Billie Holiday as some of her musical influences. Stylistically she blurs the boundaries between Soul and Jazz.  Her recordings are distinctly heart felt emotions and it becomes easier to understand how Billie Holiday has influenced her vocal phrasing. Her 2009 album Deeper Love contains one that propa modern Soul lovers will delight in when dance floor action is a must. I Want You To Want Me is the sensual cry of woman craving to feel wanted. Beautifully arranged with support from superbly harmonised backing group, weaving in and out of her vocals, adding that extra sense of  passionate urgency. Dancers will easily lose themselves in this song.

CD Released on: Thunder Dome Sounds ‎– ACD0014 (2009)
