Deni Hines - It's Alright (1997)

Another excellent Soul groove from the 90s, this one is from Deni Hines, daughter of singer Marcia Hines. Deni Hines was born in Australia so I suppose technically this is some genuine 'southern' Soul! Well, it's about as far South as you can get on the planet.  A former lead singer with Rockmelons she moved onto a solo career releasing two albums in the 90s: Imagination (1996) and Pay Attention (1998). It's alright, the feature track today is taken from her second album. It's pretty much about wanting a one night stand so go figure the rest. The video pretty much aids and abets the lyrics. Both her albums were all originally released in Oz. More recently she recorded an album with James Morrison in 2007 entitled The Other Woman. Enjoy! Seek out the albums!
