“Today’s music is over-ego or over-sex. There isn’t a conversation of what went wrong, why people do what they do in relationships. Where are the songs saying we’re all still learning?” – Bradd Marquis
In true Soul tradition Bradd Marquis began his career from a young age travelling and working with the “Family & Friends” gospel troupe. His musical break through came as a member of Mass Appeal before moving onto honing his studio engineering and music skills with guys like Angelo Ray. Cochise Bell and legend Gerald Levert. In 2007 he released his first solo album Finding My Way (Quiet As Kept). Bradd Marquis image is more typical of the Old Skool Soul singers like Sam Cooke than that of so many of his contemporaries. Listening to his albums keeps bringing Otis Redding to mind although he sounds nothing like. It must be down to his phrasing of lyrics and vocal style. Love Will Find A Way is from his 2013 album Thank You which is the real deal soulfullness of the man dubbed the Soul Troubador. The official video is visually good too.
