Rusty Yates Band - Rectify (2014)


All I can tell you about the Rusty Yates Band is that they hail from Baton Rouge, Louisiana and specialise in a bluesy Soul/Funk sound. Rectify is taken from their album  Passion (2014). This is very much Blue-eyed Roadhouse Soul and perhaps too left field for some. For others it will be an almost magnetic summons to the dance floor. From the off you have a Stax type horn section with a Booker T style organ and blues style guitar punching out of the speakers. The vocal is gritty and hoarse with the whole song high energy powered.  (Link below on album cover).
