Groove Theory - Tell Me (Original Album Version 1995)

Groove Theory was a duo consisting of Amel Larrieux and Bryce Wilson who had a huge Stateside hit with Tell Me. It reached the Billboard Top 5 in  1995 but did not quite make the UK top 30. Amel Larrieux has gone on to forge a successful career as a solo artist and will feature in future daily posts. She has a beautifully expressive voice that wrings emotions out of the lyrics as few singers can. Nowhere is this more evident  than  with the material recorded in the 90s. Hard to believe Tell Me was made 20 years ago. An oldie but goody that could do with a resurrection. The video reveals just what a fine and emotive singer she was back then (and remains today). There are a load of remixes out there of this fantastic song but the majority suck. The original version has not been improved. The album version remains the definitive soulful cut. The original CD album should still be easy to find.
