Beverlei Brown - Gonna Get Over You (Full Flava Mix 2001)

One of the best Soul nights to be had at the start of the new millennium was the Jazz FM event held at King Georges Hall in Blackburn. On one weekend I was lucky enough to see Beverlei Brown perform live. One of our gifted Soul singers she has never really enjoyed the fame or good fortune that she deserves.  Her only album release Next To You (Dome 2001) is a classic masterpiece of contemporary Soul  with every track a winner. If you don't yet own it or any of the vinyl 12" releases then it's a serious sin of omission that needs rectifying. I intend to feature more of the tracks and remixes in the not too distant future but for today Gonna Get Over is the one I'm going with. (Link in the photo below). Great piano worked into the arrangement and superb vocal harmonies integrating with her vocal. Up beat dancer with infectious and rhythmic melody.

(Full Flava Mix 2002)

The CD can still be found as can many of the vinyl remixes.
(But don't leave it for now because eventually they will all be gone)
